I've started using my Consilient Records channel more. I've been creating sides of albums never released on vinyl (but could be). Playlists can do the same thing to some degree, but the tracks sequences are unreliable and are typically interrupted by commercials and other content.
The plan is to create 2 videos: for the album--one for each "side" of the digital release. Each song will have a separate visual. Here are 2 mock-ups:
Nostalgia Galaxy release is finalized for tomorrow 1/19. There is always some superstition involved in selecting a release date. Apparently, there is some magic in Fridays as a release date, and I was trying to decide whether it would be in January or February. Reviewing the January 19ths and 26ths in the diary, I chose 1/19. 1/19/1967 in Beatles diary: "From little acorns...The song which was to become the stunning finale of the Beatles' next album. "A Day In the Life", started it out simply...as a stark bare recording..." The "acorn" planted in this case was last January.
Many of the books are now in their second and third editions. The third editions will not have any images in them as I decided that I would create a separate blog for them. This is the better option rather than the very small images in the books. Amazon charges a download fee to the author, so I had to optimize them accordingly, resulting in tiny images with no zoom.
The other change I might be making in the future is that I will stop making e-books and just publish a print version of all the books. The downside of that is that they get too large. The original first edition of all the books was about 215 pages. The initial plan was to keep them at 215 pages but that was back in 2021 and there's been a considerable amount of new content. New essays and riffs that I've done are probably going to double the size. Do I want 12 400-page books? One of the advantages of e-books is that they eliminate bulk in long open-ended serial texts. |
