Worldwide war protests—China, Tokyo, Australia, Paris, London. "An imposed democracy is a dictatorship". 3/20/2006 Bush: "The media is being too negative about progress in Iraq". Images from the 3/2003 rally: As I've been continuing with my "History Overlay" project, I'm now going out on photo shoots to the same locations on the same day of the month specifically for the overlay effect. It's hit-and-miss because you don't know what the overlay effect will be until you can get it into Photoshop. Sometimes they don't work, but it's interesting when they do. The primary rule is that you use only the Overlay transfer mode.

Photographer Diane Arbus has a show at the Met. She let people politely "gawk" at freaks, dwarves, and sideshow performers. That's one of the unique things about photography— it lets people stare at other people without being impolite. I also like her Axiom: "a photo is a secret about a secret." Now with Photos Taken On A Weekend in progress, I have new "eyewear"-- a photo eye I can wear on weekends to locate the kind of photos that really feel like a weekend.
Some spreads for this section. It's difficult to tell whether something looks and feels like a weekend, But a souvenir pic from the Trianon wouldn't have been taken on a Monday.
